December ‘Daily Dip’ brings record fundraising

It all adds up

Throughout the month of December, members of the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Water Rats open swimming club took a ‘daily dip’ in chilling temperatures to raise money for Doorstep.

The event was organised by Tim Fletcher, who said: “On behalf of the water rats we would like to thank each and everyone one of you who supported our dip a day in December to raise money for our chosen charity Doorstep.

“For every little bit of help you gave: from dipping everyday or maybe a few dips throughout December, or home baking cakes and supplying lovely biscuits for the dippers to go with their hot drinks. For sharing our charity page with friends and family and making a donation no matter how large or small. It all adds up to helping us raise almost £2,500 for a well deserved local charity.

“Well done everyone for taking part in our dip a day throughout December. It is very much appreciated. Thank you.”

Giving back

Speaking to Grimsby Live, Tim Fletcher, a member of the Water Rats, said: “All of the money we raise from this is going to the local charity Doorstep, which is really about supporting the young people who are homeless, at risk of being homeless, or have housing issues within North East Lincolnshire.

“As a community amateur sports club we try to make sure we are giving back to our local community and we do this on a yearly basis.”

We thank you for all of your efforts. Take a look at how Tim updated all of the people supporting them through our fundraising platform:
