Personal firsts and bests all around

This was our first year taking part in the Ørsted Tape2Tape Events Great Grimsby 10k and we loved every second! Even when it looked like we’d lost half of our crew due to a very import Grimsby Town away game, our staff team, supporters, volunteers and young people pulled through on the day. We need to send a special ‘Thank You’ and a huge ‘Well done!’ to all the race crew, runners and volunteers who made it possible, especially Team Doorstep!

• Our Housing Manager Sarah achieved a personal best of 50m 38secs
• One of our young people, Tanya, pushed through the whole course having never done anything like this before and we are so very proud!
• Our biggest fundraiser, Fay, supported Tanya through every step of the race after Tanya’s running partner couldn’t make it. Fay has been fundraising for us for months through her role at Nationwide.
• Our staff team, trustees, friends and family all mucked in to run and marshal the event and we couldn’t have taken part without all of them!

Update June 2022: We raised a total of £292.50 through our fundraising platform and a further £200 was raised by the staff at Nationwide Grimsby.
